"Ukrtransnafta" begins reconstruction of "Druzhba" oil pipeline

PJSC "Ukrtransnafta" in 2016 will modernize the Druzhba oil pipeline and replace 68 kilometers of the main oil pipeline due to the significant wear and tear and unsatisfied technical condition. This was reported on Facebook by the press service of "Ukrtransnafta".

It is noted that the appropriate replacement of individual sections is the optimal option to ensure the reliability of oil transit to Europe through the territory of Ukraine.
The service life of certain sections of the pipeline ranges from 20 to 40 years.

In particular, the Brody-State border oil pipeline, which is a part of "Friendship", works since 1962 and passes in difficult mountain conditions of Carpathians. The estimated cost of the project to modernize the Druzhba pipeline will be 650 million hryvnias. In addition, it is planned to replace 4 oil pumping pumps and 9 electric motors in 2016.

"Ukrtransnafta" CEO Nikolai Gavrilenko also announced his intention to hold talks this year on the possibility of pumping oil on the Odessa-Brody-Kralupy route.
